Learning Inspired by Nature, Homesteading & Horses
Designed to enrich your homeschool experience for children ages 5–10, our half-day program brings lessons to life through hands-on, nature-based education and equine-assisted learning. From horse-centered experiences and caring for farm animals to exploring forest trails and homesteading projects, students dive into meaningful, project-based work that builds confidence, connection, and curiosity. Each week follows Farm School’s engaging seasonal themes—linking academics with the rhythm of farm and forest life.

How Horses Help Us Grow
Horses are powerful, intuitive partners in learning—sensitive to energy, emotion, and body language. They teach us to slow down, listen deeply, and lead with calm confidence. When students work with horses, they’re not just learning to care for animals—they’re discovering how to communicate with respect, patience, and clarity.
Through grooming, leading, and equine-assisted activities, children strengthen self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation. Horses respond honestly to the energy around them, offering immediate feedback that helps students understand how their actions and feelings affect others.
These moments in the barn build confidence, courage, and trust—in themselves, in their peers, and in the gentle horses who guide them. Whether learning to halter a pony, give clear cues, or simply be present, students carry these lessons far beyond the farm, developing grounded leadership skills that last a lifetime.

Our days unfold in tune with the seasons, inviting students to explore the natural world with curiosity and care. Through gardening, ecology studies, and hands-on homesteading, children discover how living things connect and how our choices shape the world around us.
Environmental education at Farm School encourages curiosity, stewardship, and a sense of wonder—helping students see themselves as caretakers of both the earth and its creatures. From seed to harvest, forest to shoreline, learning comes alive in every corner of the farm and field.
By engaging directly with the land, students develop a deep respect for nature and an understanding of how small actions can create lasting change. It’s a foundation for lifelong environmental awareness—rooted in gratitude, observation, and care.
